Bissell 8910W Proheat Turbo Upright Deep Cleaner

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Durable, efficient, easy to use and maintain, and competitively priced- the Bissell Proheat is a winner on all counts. My white wool carpet is no match for my four year old, German Shepherd, and indoor/outdoor cat. Needless to say, I use the Bissell cleaner at least once a month to keep the carpet smelling and looking fresh. I also use the rotating brush attachments to clean my furniture and car upholstery. The deep cleaning brushes are very effective on food spills and "animal spots." I have rented so called "professional cleaners" from stores and also borrowed high-end cleaners from friends, but the Bissell outperforms them all without breaking the bank. A small jet is positioned on the front of the vacuum head for spraying directly onto small spots for deep treatment. The suction is strong and consistent and leaves my super-absorbent carpet feeling damp but not slushy. The cleaning formula is readily available at all major chains and, though it can be a bit pricey, is still cheaper than other brands and certainly cheaper than a professional cleaning job. I find that the water heats to a higher temperature than other cleaners, allowing me to tackle set in stains without harsh chemicals. As with all steam cleaners, be prepared for a little maintenance after each use. You should take care to empty the dirty water and clean out the bladder after each cleaning, and remember to never store the machine with liquid in it. I did this once and the next time I used it my carpet smelled sour. Luckily, the odor went away after rinsing the bladder with a hot water/baking soda solution and re-cleaning the carpet. Overall, I recommend the Bissell 8910W Proheat to anyone looking for an affordable steam cleaner that will perform consistently over many years to come.
