Impact Sports ePulse Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Watch and Calorimeter

As an avid exerciser, I often found myself becoming frustrated with heart rate monitors worn around the chest, because they were prone to slippage in the midst of a strenuous workout. Therefore, this wristwatch style monitor, which has an MSRP of $129.95, seemed like a practical solution.
It is powered by three AAA batteries, and I have found that it is very energy efficient even throughout daily usage. Although its design is bulkier than many similar models, the inclusion of calorie tracking is a very useful addition for anyone who is serious about achieving their workout objectives.
The digital display clearly shows a user's minimum and maximum heart rate, as well as current heart rate, and average heart rate. Based on a personal profile which is created based on a user's average ranges, caloric goals can be easily calculated for specific goals such as weight loss.
The inconspicuous design allows the unit to be worn constantly through the day, but for users who choose to separate their usage into multiple sessions per day, it can average the data collected across those sessions and provide an overall picture of the intensity of daily activities. It is also able to calculate a user's daily amount of calories burned, plus their basic metabolic rate. This is a great advantage for users who want to measure the output of their efforts in regards to a diet and exercise program.
However, it should be noted that a considerable amount of time must pass before the unit is able to correctly calculate a user's average heart rate. For users who plan to engage in a workout for several hours, this is not problematic, but users who are only working out for half an hour or less should take this into account.
