Black & Decker 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker DCM100
Rating: 3 out of 5
Black and Decker's 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker is overall a good old fashioned appliance from a well known company. The 12 cup capacity is nice for homes with more than two coffee drinkers, and it does come with a two year warranty. Not to bad for a decently priced coffee maker. It has a programmable clock so your coffee will be fresh and hot for you when you want it. This model also has the Sneak-a-cup feature for those of us who need a java fix before the brew cycle is done. The automatic shut off is nice as it prevents energy waste and overheating. Black and Decker also has a nice feature in their Optimal Brewing System, which ensures that your coffeemaker brews pretty quickly. The filter basket is also safe to put in the dishwasher. The non-stick warming plate is a feature not found in many other comparable machines.
The other side of this coffeemaker is that it is limited in color availability. Black and white are your only options. Aside from that it is a quality product. The only issue I know of is that spill over from the basket area is fairly common. Coffee can seep down the back of the basket, over the carafe and onto the hotplate where it will sizzle under the carafe. Just watch the water level and you should be A-OK.
It may be a bit no frills, but for the money, this is a good basic coffee maker at a good price.
