Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

The Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System is a top of the line coffee brewing system that allows you to enjoy the luxury and convenience of a coffee shop, all within the comfort of your home. The brewing system retails for nearly $365, and is perhaps a third too expensive for its capabilities.

It is above others in technology, but is perhaps too high above them in price as well. While it should be more expensive than other makers, it should not be as much as $100 more than similar makers.

The SS-700 itself is more a brewing system than a coffee maker, and can only make up to five cups of coffee at a time. These cups, however, can be brewed with the utmost flavor and the finest of ingredients. The brewing system features a drip tray and easy clean up system, and can also make iced beverages on different settings.

It features an 80-ounc removable reservoir, and allows you to use mugs and make frequent refills. The blue backlight of the programming menu is easy to see, it features a digital clock, adjustable temperature control and an auto on/off feature. It also offers a hot-water rinsing system, and a removable top that lets you perform easy cleaning if you would like to do it manually without the hot water rinse system.

Other specifications include reusable coffee filters that can be stored right inside of the brewing system. Also feature a charcoal water feature, you can program the maker to pour yourself 4, 6, 8 or 10 ounce cups of coffee. The maker is easy to use and easy to clean, but for its price cannot do enough or supply you with enough features. Absent a programmable timer and more technology, it is too expensive for its capabilities.
