Step2 Naturally Playful® Adventure Lodge Play Center with Glider
Rating: 5 out of 5
This is our third Step2 play set in four years. We have two smaller ones that we still have, as we have four children ranging from seven to two, and the older kids keep outgrowing them while our younger ones still play on the smallest set. We have been very, very pleased with the Step2 products, and we especially like the Naturally Playful line becuase they actually blend in with our back yard rather than looking garish or out of place.
Some of the play options we really liked about his one that made us choose it are the climbing rope ladder, the glider, two more swings than our other sets, and the two-story fort. Our kids are getting a ton of play out of these. Even though we bought it as a kind of upgrade for our older two kids, the littlest ones play on it as well. This set took a little bit linger for us to set up (about three hours) than the others, but mostly because it was just the two of us and it is rather larger. It wasn't especially complicated though, and just required a ratchet and rubber mallet. Even if you aren't particularly handy, this is a relatively easy set to put together.
With one of our other Step2 sets, we ended up setting the swing extension legs into concrete holes, but we haven't had to do that with this one. This is probably because it is longer and therefore stays put better.
As with the other two sets, we really appreciate the molded plastic construction, as opposed to metal or wood. We had safety concerns with the sets made of metal or wood, and also felt that metal wood rust and fade more. Our oldest Step2 set is five years old, and has faded just a hair from the sun, but still looks great. With the molded plastic, we have never had any concerns about cuts or scrapes, either.
