Shop Vac - The Right Stuff 965-06-10
Rating: 5 out of 5
Shop Vac's The Right Stuff six gallon vacuum is a great, compact industrial vacuum cleaner. It feature three peak horsepower and is one of the quieter models available. It is small, so it is not ideal for large households, serious flooding issues or workshops where there are a lot of home improvement projects. We have experienced flooding twice in our basement during significant storms and both times the Shop Vac has worked great. The first flood required about 60 gallons of water removal and the machine held up great the entire time. The second storm was a year later and required only about 12 gallons of water removal. On both occasions, we ran the vacuum for long periods of time, sucking the water as it poured up from the concrete and the vacuum never wavered or lost power.
The Shop Vac comes with a lock-on hose, onboard accessory storage, a gulper nozzle, two extension wands, a wet-dry nozzle and an ultra web filter. The hose is 1.25 inches in diameter. One of the cons of the machine is that things tend to get stuck in the hose, but this is likely user error. The suction is strong, so if you vacuum too close to anything that can be grabbed, you will find yourself with a clog. Another downside to the vacuum is the fact that it only holds six gallons of water. If you have serious flooding issues, you may want to buy a larger capacity Shop Vac, but remember you will have to lift the vac to empty the contents. The six gallon has worked well for our two person, two pet, three-story home.
The vacuum is a great option for its size and price range. It works great on vacuuming pet hair and we often use it in place of our standard upright vacuum. It takes a little longer using the hose, but the results are so great it is worth the effort.
