Craftsman 120-volt 3.3 amp Air Compressor Inflator
Rating: 5 out of 5
Currently 5.0/5.0
A well-priced device, listing at $59.99. This handy little compressor is perfect for a quick inflation job on car and bike tires.
I purchased one of these five years ago and while it is used infrequently, it has always been a reliable device and is a regular fixture in our garage. The motor is more than powerful enough for household use, and it inflates virtually anything quickly and easily. We've used it to top-off tire pressure on our vehicles, re-inflate flat bicycle tires and even blow up pool toys.
The unit features a nice 8-foot long hose which is long enough to reach either side of a vehicle without moving the unit, and stores neatly wrapped around the base of the compressor. The pressure gauge on the top of the unit is large and easy to read, and the entire thing is operated with a single easy on/off switch. Several different head attachments were included with the pump for inflating different types of tires, etc- though I have never needed to use anything other than the standard head. Compressor plugs into any standard electrical outlet, and even included a car adapter that allows you to plug it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter- an extremely useful feature if you like to take mountain biking trips like we do. The compressor itself weighs around 8 pounds, so it's light and portable and easy to toss into the trunk for use on the road.
In all, this is a great little portable compressor unit that will meet the household needs of most families. The 120 psi threshold of the machine may reduce its usefulness if you own a large vehicle such as an SUV (or anything else with large, high pressure tires)- but otherwise it's fabulous.
