Woods freezer 16 cubic ft.

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

We have had this product for three years and have been fairly satisfied with it. As far as reliability it works all the time but needs to be defrosted very often or the ice and snow really build up in it. It's easy to use because you just plug it and stock it. The freezer has three large shelves in the front, two shelves on the side and then one drawer on the bottom. The storage is great and we've been able to keep things in good condition in that freezer for six months. The freezer is a nice size and fits really well in our garage. The color is white so it's nice looking as long as we keep it clean and wiped down. There is no way to set different temperatures for the freezer so it isn't a product rich in different features. One of the main negatives to the product that we've found is it builds up the ice and snow very quickly and we find that it's difficult to defrost and very inconvenient to defrost. Sometimes because of this we end up running out of room with all the ice in the way. We would for sure like the product more if we didn't have to defrost so often. The price is very competitive on this product. Other similar freezers price between $500 and $1000. The Kenmore and the Frigidaire are in that price range and don't really offer anything more. Our product cost $300 and it gets the job done. If we really wanted to have a better freezer we would have had to pay well over $1000 and purchase a Viking freezer of better yet a Sub Zero freezer. Those products boast no defrosting and no mixing smells with other frozen products.
