Hoover Dual V Carpet Cleaner Patented Spin
Rating: 3 out of 5
We have had several steam cleaners in this household because we have children and a dog. The Hoover is our most recent product these past 10 years and it's been just ok as far as reliability, durability and effectiveness. It is easy to use as far as loading it with steam cleaning solution and filling with water and even light as far as pushing across the floor and moving around.
As far as bad points, it's difficult to clean out and reach spots where dog hair gets caught. The brushes on the bottom have stopped rotating for no real reason and I haven't been able to fix it. Sometimes it will leak cleaning solution on the carpet, which leaves a stain. I have also found out that it doesn't thoroughly clean the carpets. I have to clean them multiple times to get the results I want. It isn't easy to use for cleaning carpet stairs either. The bottom leaks out when you are trying to stretch the stair piece up the stairs and it becomes very awkward.
Probably the best thing about this product is it's a quick cleaning job and it's much less expensive than having the carpets cleaned professionally. It makes your house smell nice if you have pets and the cleaning solution isn't expensive and lasts a long time. The product itself is in a good price range as well. You can buy one of these for as little as $69.99 or as high as $99.99. The cleaning solution comes in a gallon-sized bottle and costs anywhere from $5.99 to $10.99 and lasts for probably ten cleanings. The cleaning products also come in multiple scents and they have a special pet formula and stain solution.
