Frigidaire Washer FTF530FS

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

The Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer is a functional washer. The 27" front-load washer has a 3.1 cubic foot capacity, easily washing a load of eight towels, and its five wash cycles are sufficient to wash any load of laundry. Even though it is not the quietest machine on the market, the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer functions sufficiently for its price set (MSRP $649.00).
Boasting a small feature set of only 3.1 cubic feet capacity and five wash cycles, the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer lacks impressive features and size of more expensive machines. However, still a desirable front-loading machine, the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer functions better than top-loading counterparts. Offering more space-saving options, including stacking the dryer, the small, front-loading washer functions better in small spaces than top-loaders.
The five wash cycles comprising the feature set include: heavy wash, normal wash, light press, light wash and knits/delicates. All cycles function properly, and I have not experienced any problems in the machine's functions in three years. All cycles wash and rinse properly, and there is an extra rinse function for heavily soiled garments. Another feature, the cycle/rinse temperatures, includes: hot/cold, warm/cold and cold/cold. All of the temperatures function properly.
The final feature, the end of cycle signal, can be set to: off, quiet, and loud. This feature functions properly, however, the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer is not the quietest machine on the market, so the quiet signal seems a moot point. I would not run the washer near a child's room, and I therefore do not see a need for the quiet signal. Thankfully, my laundry room is in my basement, and I have not had any trouble with the washer's spin volume disturbing a child's nap.
Overall, the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer is a functional machine. For the price point, though, I would expect a little less spin noise, so I rate the Frigidaire FTF530FS Washer a 3 of 5 for functionality.
