2009 Chevy Equinox

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Let's talk vehicles.

2009 Chevy Equinox comes to mind. Let us take a peek. Fuel economy is 17 city/24 hwy mpg; the cost $35,240. Roomy and versatile, that's what to expect from a Chevrolet Equinox.

Chevy was founded by Louis Chevrolet, a racecar driver and son of Cooper Chevrolet. The history doesn't make the car.

We'll check out what you need to know. 1.) How much gas do you get to a mile. This is VERY important. The better the mileage, you will get that extra stretch of highway, kinda vital if you need some gas, don't ya think?

Next is control. 2.) Control is everything. The vehicle should always handle well. This includes the breaks, all the way down to the turn signal.

3.) IS comfort. It too makes the way you handle the vehicle.

Last, 4.) Positive outlook. How the vehicle reflects you.

PROS: This vehicle offers a modest way of driving. Like most vehicles it has room to grow on you. The inside is nice, assuming it's at least fairly *new* looking. It handles well.

The Equinox comes in several trims -- the base LS, mid-level LT, luxurious LTZ, and performance-minded Sport. The Equinox comes in either front or all-wheel drive.

"It offers some of the best passenger and cargo space in its class, as well as a standard V6 engine," says Kelley Blue Book.

CONS: The Chevrolet Equinox continues to receive criticism for its sub-par steering and handling, even in the Sport version.

"If you're enthusiastic about the driving experience, the lack of a manual shifter and the minimal feedback of the electrically-assisted power steering of the LS, LT and LTZ trim levels may not appeal to you," adds Kelley Blue Book.

My rating is easily 5.0++/5.0.

COMPARING: You can't compare this to any other vehicles besides maybe a similar make/model. To be honest, this is a well classed truck.
