This entire process frightens me. I made my husband take this outside to cook our turkey, hot oil and little kids don't mix. It will only hold a 14 pound turkey and it's not enough to feed my family. It takes a long time to heat up, over 30 minutes. The break away power cord is a joke, if it takes 30 minutes to heat up it takes that long to cool down. Pulling that cord isn't much help. I did like the flavor and moistness of the turkey though. I gave it to my father and asked him to fry the turkey and bring it over. Maybe I'm paranoid but, safety is a big concern.

I have owned my fryer for more then 10yrs. now. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I love the way that it not only fry's turkey but I love how it fry's everything. Yes it takes sometime to warm up but if one properly prepares then the warm up time works out well for you. I have found that a 14 pound turkey is more then enough for my family. If I had anything bad to say about it I guess I would say that I can't believe they discontinued this model. Everyone that has seen it work at my home wants one just like mine. The square ones do not appeal to me at all. I give it 5 stars
