This Panasonic iron is highly affective, but everyone expects that from an iron. The speed of this iron is what is most impressive. It works incredibly fast and provides great results. The bottom plate of this iron is non stick so you'll never have to worry about your clothes being ruined by simply awful craftsmanship. This iron also has a removable water compartment. It is very simple to remove from the iron. Once you pull it out, you should fill it with clean filtered water. Using good water is taking care of your iron. If you take good care of your iron this way, it will last much longer. When starting it up you have three heat options and one "Set" button under the level displays. If you set it to low, a light will flash on the low setting and when the light becomes solid, the iron is ready to use. If you set it to medium, a light will flash on the medium level and the same goes for the highest setting which is best for the toughest of wrinkles. It does have a manual "off" setting which is simply pressing "Set" one last time, but if you forget to turn it off, the iron will turn itself off enabling you to rest easy and not have to worry about coming home to a burned house.
This iron is also cordless. When you are not using it you must place it on the charger. The charger is what will be plugged in. Silicone wheels are attached to the charger. When you replace the iron on its cradle you should rest it on the wheels and slide it back until it is in place. The charger has a retractable plug so once you have unplugged the base, tug gently on the cord over the whole set up. Press down on the lid gently until it clicks. It will then be locked in place and you can pick it right up with the handle located on the top of the lid and take your iron anywhere you like.
This is a terrific iron and produces great results, but it's expensive. The cheapest it can cost is $60 and while this iron can come off as a bit flashy, there are irons at half that price that do a fine job as well. Four out of five stars.
