Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum

I use this vacuum every day. It is lightweight and extremely easy to get around. Overall I use it more often on the tile floor in the kitchen than I do on our carpet. It far exceeds the abilities of a broom and mop because it doesn't require me to bend down. It's very easy to empty the waste without getting dust all over. As far as cleaning the carpets go, it doesn't have the deep down cleaning power that a heavy duty vacuum does. However, I have a different vacuum entirely for the times that I need a good thorough cleaning of the carpeted rooms.
One of the biggest assets of this vacuum is the fact that it's cordless. With 2 small kids running around, it is nearly impossible to use a vacuum with a cord attached to it. It's simple to charge and the battery lasts around 15-20 minutes, which is plenty long enough for small spills and clean ups. The model I bought also came with an extra battery, though I have never needed to use it.
An added bonus to this vacuum that I hadn't considered is how quiet it is. Compared to the vacuums that my mother used, this one is practically silent. I have run it in the kitchen while my kids are sleeping in their bedrooms and not thought twice about it. This is important to me, because often times those few hours at nap time are the only chance I get to do my cleaning.
The one drawback for me is the fact that there isn't a hose attachment. This isn't a huge problem, as I do have a multi-purpose heavy duty vac. I also worry that if they added the hose attachment it would become a lot bulkier, which would definitely take away from the convenience of this vacuum.

Default Want to use as hand-held

I'm enthusiastic about mine too but don't know how to remove the stop in order to take the handle off to use it as a hand-held vacuum.
