We have had this basketball hoop for two years now and have been thrilled with it. We had it installed with a sport court in our backyard a few summers ago and were talked into this more expensive unit, which costs $1,400. The basketball hoop looks like its for professionals so as far as style it's great. Our children are not that old so one of the nicer features of this hoop is the ability to adjust the height on it. You can go down as low as seven feet, which is nice for shorter kids if they want to practice dunking. The manufacture boasts that this product is great for dunking and very durable if somebody hangs on it. Another positive aspect for this basketball hoop is the fact that it can stay outside year round and be installed in the ground. The backboard is made of tempered glass so it's very easy to keep clean and can take all types of weather without trouble. One negative aspect to the product is probably the pricing. Other basketball hoops on the market can cost as little $250 and truthfully seem to last just as long and to serve the same purpose. Two of the products we looked at were the Reebok and the Spalding, which cost $80 and $150. They seem to have nice warranties and decent reliability. The only problem with these other products is that they can't be permanently installed into a certain area so the stability isn't as good. For some, this is a positive, though because it gives you flexibility on where you can shoot baskets, can be stored inside and you don't have to go through the trouble of digging a hole in the ground and cementing something in.
