Snow Joe Ultra 622U1 13 Amp Electric Snow Thrower

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

During winter, snow builds up and is always a problem. I used to just shovel them off, but recently I'm thinking I might be getting too old for manual labour, so I might as well invest in a good snow blower. I needed a snow blower with good deflector and chute adjustment, a narrow clearing path (since my walk way isn't so wide), relatively high throw distance, a powerful engine and something that isn't too big so it'll be easy to store.
It took me a while before I finally settled with the Snow Joe Ultra 622U1 13 Amp Electric Snow Thrower. What I liked about this product was it was light weight and easy storage. It didn't take up that much space in my garage and handling it wasn't as difficult as the bigger models would have been. The Snow Joe is also low maintenance and is a great buy for people who are environmentalists as this is an eco friendly blower. It actually runs on electricity which is both a good and bad thing.
Sadly, the light weight and small build did mean that it wasn't appropriate for heavy snowfall. It was okay in my case though since we experience light snows mostly where I live. Another bad feature is that this is not self propelled and the most annoying thing I have experienced with this is that the cord can limit your range. This is the bad thing about the blower being eco friendly. So, for a longer range, I need to use another extension cord.
Over all, this is a pretty good item for the price so I'm satisfied with it. The cord can be annoying sometimes, but at least there isn't a need to maintain an engine or fuel the blower. Also, the price at $269 is comparatively lower than its gas powered counter parts.
