My old Sunbeam mixer was 25 years old when it bit the dust. My new Sunbeam does the job but, there are a few things that could be imporved. I was use to a glass bowl so I could see how well my cakes are mixed; now the bowl is metal. The beaters are larger and the metal bowl smaller. I have to stop the machine and scrap down the sides rather than scraping while the mixer is on. I can't crack eggs and put them in one at a time because the mouth of the bowl is too small. My old Sunbeam came with two bowls, one large and one small. With this model I have to purchase the small bowl seperately. It does what it is supposed to do, I'm just not crazy about all the design changes.
My 40 year old Sunbeam died last week, so I've been busy reading reviews on what to replace it with. I wish Sunbeam would offer their 'Cafe' series 1000 watt stand mixer here in the USA. It is available in Australia and New Zealand where it is hugely popular.
