LG : DLE2301R 27 Electric Dryer with 7.3 cu. ft. Capacity Wild Cherry Red
Rating: 5 out of 5
I bought this dryer as a set with the washing machine and I've been extremely pleased. At first, I was a little unsure about paying so much for a dryer ($810 on sale last year) when my last dryer was only $315. However, I've saved a great deal of time and aggravation, not to mention money spent at laundromats. I think that, as long as this machine holds up for several years, the cost will average out very well.
The first thing I appreciated about this dryer was the capacity. I have three kids that created an average of two loads of laundry a day with my old dryer. This dryer can handle twice as much laundry as my old one, and I am usually able to do all of the day's wash in one load. On top of that, I no longer have to go to the laundromat to wash and dry our comforters and blankets. My old washer and dryer were very good for what they were, but they absolutley could not handle our larger comforters and heavier blankets. That meant that I had to run them to the laundromat whenever they needed cleaning. As a working mother, I really disliked having to take the time to do that and I didn't appreciate spending the money at a laundromat when I had a laundry room at home.
Another thing that I have really enjoyed about this dryer is that it's extremely quiet. My laundry room is right off of my family room, and my old dryer was decent, but quite loud. It was a bit of a problem if we had company or were watching TV in the family room while drying clothes. A minor thing, perhaps, but the quietness of the new dryer has been noticed and appreciated in our house.
I'm hoping this machine lasts several years, but so far, I would say that I will definitely make my next dryer an LG as well.
