The Craftsman Snow Thrower, model 247.2888531, was made in 2003. It was reasonably priced and works well clearing Wisconsin snow falls. The thrower is self-propelled, has six forward and two reverse gears and a four cycle engine. The width is 28 inches and has a 9 horsepower engine.
The snow thrower is made with a safety feature that stops the auger when operators remove their hands from the controls. This means if you let go of the machine, it is just going to shut off so there are no injuries or damage property. If it feels like it is running wrong or gets out of control, all you have to do is let go.
The thrower features an adjustable snow throwing shoot, so you can blow the snow away from your body and further away from the sidewalks. There are separate hand controls for the snow thrower and traction initiation. The best things about the snow thrower are the location of the hand controls, the power of the motor and the easy of handling. Even with a heavy Midwestern snowfall, it still works great.
There only problem with this thrower is the plastic shoot. If I were going to change something about it, the shoot would be made of a sturdier material.
