We have had this product for a short time and use it to cool one of the smaller areas of our home. When the product is working it certainly keeps the room cool and even spreads to other areas of the house. It was very reasonable in price and was fairly easy to install. The problem with this unit and with most portable air conditioning units is the noise it makes. If you are in the room trying to watch TV it is way too loud. You find yourself either turning it down so you can hear the TV or turning your TV way up so you can stay cool and continue to watch TV. The other problem with these types of units is they sometimes tend to make the room too cold. It comes with a lot of different settings and buttons but truthfully with these units it is very difficult to maintain and balance a nice temperature - especially if it's very hot outside. Regulating could definitely be improved on this one! Other complaints we could make include the fact that your electric bill goes way up when the unit runs a lot. It also manufactures extra dust into your house and is very difficult to clean and get at all its parts to clean it. We have central air in the rest of our home and have found it to be a much better solution for keeping things cool. The window unit is used only for a bonus room and for that, it's probably the better solution for most people than including it in the central air. The unit is decent looking as long as we keep it dusted at all times, too. Other comparable products are all made by Frigidaire. They seem to have the market on this one.
