Whynter WC-16S SNO 16 Bottle Wine Cooler

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Some wine enthusiasts like to decorate there house with bottles around the kitchen, on side tables and on book shelves. Some others are less ego-centric about their wine, and like to keep it in a more practical location. Wine cellars provide this location, allowing you to keep your wine at a serving temperature, all without leaving it outside, leaving it laying around your house or keeping it in your refrigerator.

More convenient than simple wooded and unrefrigerated wine racks, the Whynter WC-16S SNO 16 bottle cooler allows for the same storage capabilities. With enough room for over a dozen bottles, this cooler looks like a miniature refrigerator and features an adjustable thermostat. This allows you to keep your favorite wines at a temperature between 52 degrees F and 64 degrees F.

At $215, the wine cooler is on the higher side of the price range for similar coolers, but is not overprice by any means. It features both Celsius and Fahrenheit displays, and a blue backlight temperature display that can be seen on both the dark or from across the room. If leaving teens at home or going on vacation, you can use your lock cylinder and key to be sure that no one gets into the cooler, and you turn the cooler to low power to conserve energy.

The Whynter WC also features solid state components that allow for easy movement and reliability. The horizontal racks allow you to store your wine sideways, keeping the corks from breaking. You can also use the inside fans to circulate cool air within the cooler and to ensure that the hot air outside of the cellar is dissipated. The fan system also eliminates any humidity from within the system, and your wine will be kept both cool and fresh, ready for serving at your next dinner or party.
