Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 200
Rating: 3 out of 5
My Maytag Quiet Series 200 is less than 5 years old. When I had it installed the instillation guy said most dishwasher will last 5 or 6 years, less if you have fewer members in the household.
I was happy when I first used it. It had a greater dish capacity than my previous one and it had a garbage disposal in the bottom of it. The salesman said it would get rid of the problem of food flying around in the bottom. Bull!
My Maytag worked well for about 18 months and slowly it started getting louder and louder. I thought I purchased a 'quiet series' of dishwasher. I can't run the dishwasher if someone is trying to watch TV. I used to feel good about running a full load of dishes and help the environment, now if I fill it some of the dishes don't get clean. It's like the whole machine is just tired.
I have stopped buying the solid detergent tablets because they no long dissolve completely. At the end of the cycle there is just a big clump of detergent at the bottom and always near the door. I don't think it has enough water pressure to push the solid stuff around.
As far as food not flying around anymore, well that stopped just about a year ago. I have just a much food in the bottom of my dishwasher as one without a garbage disposal. The crowning malfunction was when it started to leak. It's a good thing my husband saw it or my floor might have been ruined.
It will be a long time before I trust my household to another Maytag product
