Korg SP-250 88 Key Portable Digital Piano

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

We purchased this piano at Christmas time for our kids and so far it's been a great product. It has more than 25 demo songs, which has been nice for the kids since they don't know how to play a song! The piano also has 5-7 different sound settings to choose from including church organs, jazz organs, acoustic guitar, harpsichord, marimba and vibraphone. All of these sounds make it sound like a band is playing rather than just a piano playing. It can play several melodies and accompany something if you make it up. The kids are able to play a tune and the piano records it and plays it back. They can add percussion to songs and they can also sing into a microphone and/or use headphones. One really nice feature about this piano that I noticed is the keys on the keyboard feel almost exactly like a real piano and sound like a real piano. Although we haven't done it yet, another nice feature for this product is the fact that it's portable. I am a professional singer and I sing in funerals and weddings frequently. It's nice to be able to fold the piano up and bring it along for these occasions. For the price of this product, the only criticisms I have is that it doesn't come with a bench to sit on or any sheet music like some of the other products claim to. The other thing to point out about this product and really any of its competitors is that it doesn't have the beautiful look of a real piano made out of wood. It's very steril looking with black and chrome. And as fun as the different music settings are, the plain piano sound is still the best!
