Brother PC-420 Sewing Machine

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

If you happen to be an arts and crafts fanatic and love to sew then this is certainly the machine for you. This computerized machine gets all the best ratings and can do absolutely amazing work. This genius sewing machine cannot embroider, but it does have the capability to assist you with 294 different stitches including letters, numbers and punctuation and the display menu can be shown in almost any language in the world. When looking through the manual and analyzing the machine it looks rather complicated to work, but setting the machine is actually rather simple. The machine is designed to help you and guide you rather than to appear flashy. It even comes with a speed gauge so that this sewing machine can be great for beginners as well. The speed gauge can be set for the lowest speed and ascend very gradually all the way to an eye spinning speed used by pros. This machine is also great with any material from denim to velvet to silk. When stitching, you can choose to either use the pedal or to only use the most basic button that starts and stops the machine. When you stop, the needle will always stop in a downward draw. That setting is preset by the manufacturer, but it can be overridden. The length and width of stitches is also preset by the manufacturer but can be overridden as well. One more great feature that this sewing machine has is a button with a picture of a pair of scissors on it. If you are finished with a stitch then just press the button to raise the needle and then press the "scissors" button and the machine will cut your thread for you. When you are finished using the Brother sewing machine, it is rather compact and quite lightweight so you can simply pick it up by the handle and relocate it anywhere.
If you buy this sewing machine it is important to only buy it from a Brother manufacturer and not an alternative site or store. If it is bought from a Brother manufacturer, your love for sewing will be supported by a twenty five year warranty! That warranty will look more than appealing after you pay the $600 for this machine. Other such machines can go for over a thousand and almost two thousand dollars, but that doesn't make $600 any less expensive. However, there have been no complaints on this sewing machine and it really does do fantastic work so it gets four out of five stars.
