Campbell Hausfeld VT6275 15 Amp 3.2-Horsepower 60-Gallon Oiled Vertical Compressor
Rating: 5 out of 5
Now this is an air compressor!
I obtained my unit a number of days back. It was bought to change an aging Sears two HP compressor, which had mysteriously turned itself on overnight and kept operating, overheating and filling my house with oily smoke.
Accurate to marketplace hype, the 6.5 HP rating marketed is really an overstatement. The label around the unit says it's a 3.2 HP, and that is sensible consideringn the present draw. An accurate 6.5 HP unit would need a 30-50A circuit, like my Delta 5HP Unisaw. But this unit meets my requirements at a great cost.
Campbell Hausfeld tends to make this identical unit for lots of other producers. You will recognize various paint colors, but it is the exact same unit. Surprisingly, other producers cost much more. So far as I can tell only the paint color and brand sticker is various. Purchase this model and conserve your self some cash.
A downside of more than a few of the less expensive models is the fact that you will be required to use your personal electrical cord, air regulator and plumbing through the tank. I bought Campbell Hausfeld's vertical compressor mount kit immediate from their web site for about $11. It includes rubber and metal plates, along with lag screws and lag shields to safely mount the unit towards the ground. I've also bought a versatile pipe to create the connection through the compressor tank (following a ball shutoff valve) towards the relaxation from the plumbing in my program.
The cast iron compressor pump is certainly quieter than my previous aluminum one was. The unit operates extremely easily and fairly quietly for any compressor, but it is even less noisy than similar sized models. I recommend this model to anybody serious about an air compressor.
