We've agreed, no funeral for us, just cremation and burying the ashes. Years ago, my mom bought spots for us on the family plot with no pressure to use them. My wife though, doesn't want to be buried underground. She's afraid she'll suffocate. Go figure.
Morbid topic, and no I don't care how many people come. I want to be cremated. No body, no coffin, no burial. A small memorial service with photos of me when I was alive would be enough.
Is the "I don't care, I'll be dead" attitude as many people in this thread seem to agree with, one of those opinions that are more widely held than many people realize, but just one of those views that are not considered polite or suitable for expressing in polite company.
Or is it just that a lot of people with this view are answering in this thread.
Ditto on the cremation. Several moves would almost ensure that not many would be in attendance. I would want a burial Mass, though. I would want my ashes placed in a niche or whatever it's called, either in the Catholic cemetery closest to where I was raised in suburban LA, or someplace I find soothing, like a town cemetery in Quebec...meaning I'll get to enjoy fall colors every year.
