I am grateful to be employed, and to be happy and healthy. I am happy to be one of those women who are busting down stereotypes about what 50 something women "should be".

I don't even know where to start, which is why I'm only now answering this thread!

Let's see...

God's grace
My husband
My kids
MY GRANDKIDS!!!!!
I am grateful that my parents are still living and active
Our two dogs and our cat bring me joy and unconditional love every single day (yes, even the cat!)
I love my comfortable home and I am so grateful that I can heat and cool it, and fill it with groceries and comfortable sheets and other pleasantries without worrying about whether I can afford to do so.

There are many more facets of my life that bring me joy, but that's a start. I'd have to say that the thing that brings a smile to my face faster than just about anything is the sound of a grandchild's voice - my heart absolutely melts.

My memories. I saw 1950, and the rest of you will see 2050, and I wouldn't trade places with any of you.

There are many things from the past I wish I would have been around to see, but I'm still glad I never had to see separate drinking fountains, restrooms, and restaurants for blacks.

That is my only joy. Take that away and watch what happens.
