Yes, I am fine with the way my life has turned out. I never had "lofty" goals such as being a huge financial success, owning a lot of things, or having a large home.. My goals were to make my career writing, to live simply, to live close to nature, and to have love and friendship.

I HAVE made a career out of writing (copywriter, magazine author, essayist, novelist) and I am fortunate in having a great spouse and deep and meaningful friendships.

When all's said and done, I am content.

No. And it bothers me daily. I have no children, never been married. Wanted a career. Work extremely hard and have been rewarded. Still not at top. Have dreams of stardom and nothing to tie me down or hold me back. Have two professional degrees. One from a liberal arts university. Yet feel like a complete failure.

I'm twenty-one, but no, it hasn't. It has turned out quite awful, especially these past few years. But you live and learn, I guess.
