Hes 19, and he started talking at the age of 3. Well, about a year ago, he became obsessed with religion. Since then, he talks non-stop about it.

very common trait of aspies -- talk incessantly about their topics of interest whether people want to hear it or not, LOL. Don't get me started on antiques/vintage stuff and music....Far as your son I don't have any idea if there's anything you can do about this besides telling him point blank you don't want to talk about religion and redirecting him to people like clergy or online religious/philosophical sites, something like that.

I can deal with it at home but, hes at a point where he has been "shown the door" at two churches and one school. It is truly out of hand, and he doesnt seem to be aware of what hes doing.

LOL. sorry to laugh. well what is he talking about? offending people like 'all gays going to hell' type talk or something like that. either way i really don't know what to say you can do -- maybe next step take him to a professional child psychologist or neurologist who can accurately explain to someone what's wrong with his actions.

Oh honey, he is an equal opportunity offender. He goes in on religious leaders, sin, etc. and he loves to "debate" anyone who is willing to listen to his "rants" about religion. He has just started seeing a psychologist, AGAIN.

Have him read the Odyssey and Iliad. Two characters he should look into, Odysseus, Orestes and Athena. Greek mythology is far more interesting than religion because they actually have female gods or goddesses. I think religion in America has a problem considering gods only son Jesus was put to death on a cross. In any court of law when a father does that to his son, he is a murderer. Often times the righteous cannot see things from a different perspective.

Does he talk during services when the minister is speaking? I imagine that could be annoying to a lot of people. Does medication help?

No, these things usually occur after the service. He will say something that is usually considered "controversial", or ask a question about religion. If the person agrees with him, he will be ok but if they dont agree, he will loudly explain why they are wrong. He gets into these discussions with church leaders, other worshippers, or whoever he engages in conversation. My son is at the point in his life where he refuses all medication. Im quite sure that medication would help.
