I went from extrovert to introvert over the years. I just like fewer and fewer people as time goes by. I have kept some long-term friends, but have not added to the list much. Later on, people have ulterior motives and friendships are less genuine. Most people would read me as outgoing and approachable (I always get asked for directions), but there are few people I feel are worth the effort getting close to.

My favorite form of socializing are long phone calls. My friends are scattered. Most tend to call late as as a 'nightbird' that's when I'm 'up'. The other night I called a friend and we talked two hours. Last night at least that to another one. My sil keeps (or was) saying I should come over to talk. But they smoke in the house and often have neighbors over. Currently they have several staying with them. Wayyyy too many people, especially those I don't know. Since she hates phones, we don't talk much.

I used to love it when the family got together before I moved half the country away. But about evening, I was ready to go home and couldn't wait to leave. I would just feel such huge relief when I got to walk in the door. I've thought once they finish with the foundation fixing (mine is drooping in one corner) I might fix up a room to rent. But geesh, this other person would be around.... Me and my furry ones are a perfectly happy little family as it is.
