If a person only says something positive about another person behind their back, what is that called?
Ex:
In public John Doe never speaks positively about Jim Jones.
But, behind Jim's back, he does.
Thanks.
Maybe John Doe honestly can't stand Jim Doe.....again, thinks he's an attention seeker, who's constantly fishing for compliments. Maybe John is also a decent fellow who, rather than tell others what he REALLY thinks about Jim, simply chooses to say, "Yeah, I do agree with Jim's post." Maybe, just MAYBE....like the "faux searcher" in a previous poster's remarks, John sees Jim as a parrot....someone who never has an "original" idea of his own, but simply parrots the advice of others, in the attempt to make himself actully look like he knows what he's talking about.
Not sure what you are talking about, so you and the other pros, can continue the discussion.
I was just commenting on a few points in the previous. That user, sure has a one sided story against someone. Though, they say there are two sides of a story.
I'm sure there are facts and real people that can invalidate many of those claims.

I merely asked a question, and it bent 1-2 of you out of joint.
The rest were in the ball park, as far as the consensus opinions from elsewhere. That being, that there are small groups of members, who have been members along time. Some of these groups are very small, maybe 4-5 people. They rarely let new people into their exclusive club.
I experienced the "you're not a member of our club" on a handy man site.
The licensed plumbers thought they were the only ones who could give advice on plumbing repairs.
It doesn't take a licensed plumber to fix-replace a toilet.
It doesn't take a certified mechanic to change brake pads.
The same theme applies to any forum question.
If I have been giving computer related advice for 3 years, that does not mean the guy who just joined, can not be successful in helping solve problems, or searching for answers, and being successful.

You're right....ALL stories have two sides. You are telling YOUR version of the story (about the handyman site).
One thing that I DO agree with you on is that you don't have to be a licensed/bonded/certified, in order to be knowledgeable about something. However, if you're sharing tips and information on how to do something....out of the goodness of your heart, why should you give a crap if you get public praise?
"Hey everyone, let's give ole Jim (Howard) a big round of applause." I give lots of people lots of advice, and rarely do I get applauded publicly for it. Big deal. I don't do it for the applause, I do it because I have knowledge. What good is a head full of knowledge, if you don't share it? It's what we're here for.
