I thought ACT sounded interesting when I first found out about it. I remember listening to a tape on applying Zen to dealing with your emotions and it also talked about accepting your thoughts and feelings for what they were and not trying so hard to get rid of bad thoughts/feelings. It sounds like ACT has some Zen influences.

I read "The Happiness Trap" by Dr. Russ Harris---it's about ACT. It's a very good book. He has a website on which there are lots of free excerpts and other resources.
