I was watching this National Geographic doc about the secret techniques that the CIA used on prisoners. One of them was giving them LSD every day for months. I just shiver at the thought. One single puff of marijuana is enough to cause panic attacks on some people, and just one bad trip on acid or LSD made people be "out there" for the rest of their lives.

So I wonder, is humanly possible to survive several months of forced LSD intake with you mind intact?

Check the doc, it's mind blowing:

Depends on your definitions of "survive", "forced" and "intact". Will you have the same personality and show the same traits in the same way as before? Probably not. Willyou still be able to function on a basic level in society--hold down a job that pays a living wage, keep yourself clean, dressed and fed, things like that? Probably, though not eveyone will perform equally well as before.

Hard to say, really, without more operational definitions and a particular person in mind.

Interesting question -- I think no -- and it makes you wonder about kids growing up on prozac and ritalin and marijuana, even alcohol. Anything mind altering.

But at least those kids know they are taking a subtance. In the 50s,most people did not even know what LSD was. Imagine having a drink in a party with a beautyful lady you just met, and 10 minutes later you are in a basement, high on LSD, with some guys experimenting with you head. I gues it would be like like living a nightmare.

LSD causes flashbacks, And large doses like this over time there is no way someone would not have residual effects on a chemical level, As well as PTSD possibly from the experiments and visions that it caused.

John Lennon wasn't too far from that level voluntarily:

John Lennon's Rolling Stone Interview

It went on for years, I must have had a thousand trips. Literally a thousand, or a couple of hundred? A thousand - I used to just eat it all the time.

If it was a thousand trips, comes out to a trip every three days, so he got breaks.
