Totally not surprised that for [someone as batsh*t insane as] you acting like a delinquent is considered a cure for boredom.

The statement that "EVERYONE does stupid things" just irks me. I say speak for yourself. I just didn't do stupid things. I went to school most of my life...still in school now actually. I had my few friends...never had many in life. Was raised in church & attended from age 1 or 2 until I stopped going cold turkey in my early 30s. I took piano lessons from age 7 to17. Never let peer pressure affect me whatsoever. The whole school could be smoking pot, you'll never see me doing it. I've NEVER smoked, drank, did drugs, never got a tattoo, definitely never stole anything. Never had a party while the parents were away.

I'm a big planner, like to do things as far in advanced as possible.

I've done things like get a traffic ticket a few times (spaced out years apart) or got a bad grade on a test here & there (younger days), or been late on a bill maybe once or twice in my life (which was sue to a glich in the system & they corrected the late fee). No, I definitely didn't always get straight A's by any means, but overall I did well in school. I must like it because I'm working on my 2nd Masters degree now. Thought about a PhD for a time, but no, I probably going to be done after this.

Honestly, I don't hear it nearly as often as I claim to. I purposely worded it that way to have more impact in this thread. I've heard someone say it maybe a few times in my entire life.
I think deeper than you or anyone else. Challenge me if you'd like.

I have no college degree. Or a job. I have an IQ of 163+. I skipped third grade and was asked to skip fourth, but declined due to social concerns.

I am a nihilist who knows that anything goes. You do not know this. Basic area of disagreement...burden of proof is on the person claiming to have bridged the is-ought fact-value gap (and that would be you).

Like I said, bring it. Goes for anyone reading this thread or anyone anywhere...the offer is extended to all

Nietzsche said that...and he spent the last ten years of his life under the care of his mother, because he went insane on the streets of Turin when, I dunno, some horse passed by that was being mistreated and he went to embrace it...something along those lines.

Point is...Nietzsche said a lot of worthwhile things. That was not one of them...or at least, not necessarily one of them. Contingent on circumstance like just about anything else

I also believe that a person doesn't have to get out there & make mistakes before they finally learn their lesson. Must we have to experiment with drugs & get in trouble from it for example before we finlly realize that it's no good? Do we have to buy a car with our own money to appreciate it?

My boyfriend's mom stayed married to my his cheating, controlling, loser dad for way too long before she finally divorced him, but what's her excuse? "I know, I was young & dumb." Yeah well, her life could have been much better if she had done things differently!

I don't get peoples' mentality. This excuse gets on my nerves!
I share the same sentiments.

I've never done anything really bad, but I look back and cringe at times when I was rude while younger (mid teens). And that attitude really did stem from being "young and dumb". I think most people have done little "dumb" things while young.

It's the BIG dumb things that usually astound me.

The only way to get old and wise is to once have been young and dumb. I never did hard drugs but I did a lot of stupid things when I was younger. The way I thought about things was a lot different than the way I think about things now, and some of us have to make a few mistakes in life before we get the hang of things.

As the mother of a 17 year old son, I can say that sometimes "young and dumb" stuff happens. I firmly believe the important thing is how one learns from the errors in judgement and how they move forward. I guide him the very best way that I can and have taught him to be responsible from a very young age but things happen in life. Period.

I have friends who were NUTS when they were younger, made mistakes (over and over), rebelled, tried all sorts of drugs, etc, and they have turned out to be very productive people raising their own children. Plus, as someone stated before, they have some really great stories!

Well, you don't have to worry about anyone writing a book on your life. Perfection is boring.
