This. Are we talking actual social anxiety disorder, as in, severe and diagnosed or the more common social anxiety that everyone claims to have these days if they're ever uncomfortable in a social situation?

I think my husband has it too but he had no choice but to get over it. Being married to me is a challenge in his universe. I love to socialize and am constantly bringing home all sorts of people from different ethnic back grounds. I also had an all gay dinner party for our friend Scott. I'm sure it's difficult for him but I cut him some slack when it comes to going to parties. I prefer to go alone and not traumatize him all night long. I have a friend and I'm her only friend. She says she doesn't feel the need for having friends. I wonder if she secretly doesn't have a social anxiety disorder?
