My son has Down syndrome and an IQ of less than 50. He has a good memory when it comes to things that are important to him. It is quick remarkable considering his functioning level. I think where the OP gets hung up is that often someone with a higher IQ has spend and does spend more time developing and refining their intelligence making the mind/memory stronger. My son with DS has a sharp memory because of his attention to detail. IQ means very little and I believe anyone with determination can develop their memory or their intelligence despite what a test indicates.
Are you talking about working memory or long-term memory? Working memory is often tested as part of IQ tests. The WAIS-IV specifically tests memory span and visuospatial memory directly, and audioverbal memory indirectly. And while broader definitions of intelligence may de-emphasize memory in relation to intelligence, they still include working memory as a component. On the other hand, long-term memory is not usually tested in IQ tests, though when IQ test include a general knowledge test, they may be seen as testing long-term memory, though to only a slight degree and arguably not very well.
Did you really want to discuss it, or were you just trying to set yourself up to brag about your memory and/or intelligence?
I do want to discuss it. I already stated my IQ is NOT stellar. People are telling me that a good memory and IQ are not necessarily correlated, and citing examples of it. Don't bring over old stuff from another thread ... and another life.

I'll bring what I like from where I like, thank you.
And you still haven't answered the first question in my post: are you talking about correlation between IQ and working memory, or correlation between IQ and long-term memory?

Both, ST and LT memory (and the memory is also visual), and IQ ...
Is a very good memory strongly positively correlated to a high(er) IQ? Or are they independent of each other? Or is there another explanation? If you can provide insight on this, please do.
The important thing to do is remove all of the loose paint off before applying primer.
