BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | The loser's guide to getting lucky

I ran across this on the Internet-seems like some good advice.

[SIZE=2] Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:

  • Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
  • Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine
  • Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
  • Visualise yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call. Luck is very often a self-fulfilling prophecy

Smart article.

Yes it is and it is randomly funny to me because I have a Fast Company July 2003 article that summarizes Richard Wiseman's points and still keep it strategically placed in my bathroom with the 'reading material' as a reminder. This way I am uploading while downloading.

And then I thought how self made 'lucky' the elites are, who met in Hertfordshire UK (to the detriment of many throughout the world on the receiving end of 'their luck') just three weeks ago.

This is a users guide that will have about the same level of success as the ones that tell you how to become a millionaire in the stock market.

I liked it well enough to copy and will use it for a reading class with my students this coming fall. I might even try the idea of planting a notice for a prize among their reading materials to cause them to pay more attention. Yeah, love it.

And once one kid finds the prize notice, he/she will tell everyone else and everyone will know about the prize w/o having "paid attention".
