I encounter a lot of very average people who will be forgotten at work and in their community when they leave. Most people don't seem to really have anything extraordinary about them and do little to build upon their talents, they just exist day to day.
How about you? Are you brilliant or extremely talented in something? (Examples: Cooking, public speaking, acting, music, writing, conversation, mathematics, memory, etc.)
Definition of brilliant: In the top ten percent of people.
No.
In fact I'm average to below average in everything I do.
Visually gifted in art. Years ago in art school I actually had a prof pull me aside while working on a painting and whisper that I needed to "marry a rich man someday so I could stay home and paint." I was pretty shocked.
I suppose the top 10% of anything is hard to measure unless you compete. A competition itself, it is limited to a small % of the population. There are a lot better people out in the world than the ones who choose to compete.
There is no way to measure the 10%, only guess the likelihood of being in it.
Blessed with a 156 I.Q.
At age 48 pressed 1040 lbs. on a leg sled (not those wimpy pivot ones, an actual sled) 3 FULL reps.
Was ranked in the top 4% of the country in Algebra
Extremely good at spatial reasoning
Graduated top of my psychology class
Excellent cook

Can't dance a lick unless it's slow.
Well, with all the talents you have, I think it's okay if you can't dance. LOL!!
I can recite all the US Presidents in order, after having 5-6 drinks. I was a hit in the bars in my youth. After a few more drinks, I can do it backwards, but I start getting a little dizzy & nauseous around that Fillmore-Taylor range...
Brilliant at nothing... but well-rounded at a lot!
