How would you feel if your doctor silenced his phone at the store and therefore couldn't be reached when you desperately need him?

There are lots of people doing important jobs who are on call 24/7/365. Do you expect them to never leave their office so they can sit beside their landline?

I was on the train one day a few months ago when I heard this sound of someone whistling. I thought, "How annoying to do that on the train." Then I heard it again, and again. There was a woman with a kid a few rows ahead of me, so I figured the kid was playing a game. Forgot about it. Then I'd hear it again occasionally on different trains. I think it's the most annoying notification sound there is.

Then, back in July, it was time to upgrade my phone and I got the Samsung Galaxy SIII. I get my first email...and it's that stupid whistling sound! I shut that down really fast, lol.

What about the people whose cross to bear is that it is difficult for them to function daily if they are not holding a device up their ear conveying the voice of someone whom they imagine thinks they are indispensably critical to the immediacy of their lives? Maybe that is who needs to seek professional treatment. They cannot realistically expect the world to listen to them jabber constantly in the supermarket or on the bus or walking across the parking lot.
