I'm currently in the process of completing my Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources. Through out my life I've had a interest in Sports, Business, and Music. However, I would like to try and incorporate all these things with what i'm going to do with the rest of my life. I just want to a sense of fulfillment since whatever I choose to do I'm going to be doing it for the rest of my life. Can anyone help me out with this dilemma?
Intern for a pro franchise if you're near one. I have a friend who is the promotions manager for a MLB team. His whole life is business, sports, and music (business and entertainment in general).
i would start in A human resources office, regardless of where. that way you get your feet wet, and gain valuable experience in finding people for jobs, or jobs for people. and it doesnt matter where you start either, be it in a corporation like say IBM, or for a sports team, or production agency. you just need to get a start and make a name for yourself.
Apply for jobs in sports, business, and music organizations. Scour the websites of such companies for jobs for which you qualify, like HR, business analyst, PR, etc.
It would help to do an internship before you graduate.
Internships are a great way to get your foot in the door, a lot of these organizations have what are considered to be desirable jobs, and you have to know someone, or luck into a job. We had a sales person who was let go in a downsizing, and this fellow got a job in the ticket office of his local MLB baseball team, just selling tickets part time for something to do while he looked for another job. He since has been offered a job selling season ticket packages and special event packages for this team and the stadium, because he already was in the door, he had a jump on the job.
