He is only 14, and I'm pretty sure he will grow up to be a sociopath if he isn't already. He is completely unaffectionate, never shows any emotion whatsoever and doesn't seem to care about anyone else, including his parents or siblings (or me!). I have never seen him cry, smile, or laugh ever. He also lies constantly and is very controlling. That has always put me off a bit but I figured it might just be his personality or he's just kind of a jerk. What really made me think he might be a genuine sociopath though is that he didn't care one bit when his own grandfather died a few months ago. He just played video games on his phone during the funeral and the death didn't phase him at all despite the fact that granddad was over at their house all the time and was very loving towards him. He didn't seem sad or happy that he died. It was just another day to him and the funeral was getting in the way of his video game time.

I've never seen anything like it. Is this sociopathic behavior or am I wrong?

Let's Prosper

I would say begin to see the changes that can be made in the way your viewing him.
sometimes people close them selves when opinions are in the air.
How ever you would like this nephew to enjoy his life or handle social environments.
Give him credit credit.
And when he's saying how do you think that?
Just know it can happen.
A lot of people who notice those signs marinate on them and build a revolving door for abnormal attitudes.
