Not joking. That's my primary motivator.

Not a good motivator at all. Revenge is a spiritual poison. Success should be it's own reward.

Disagree. "Living well is the best revenge". Revenge is a spiritual motivator. There are numerous awful ways one could go about seeking justice - the beauty of the goal of success is that it can be attained without causing harm. By seeking to live well you are effectively removing the perpetrator of "the evil" from the equation of your life by moving on. Go for it, OP.

Exactly...work on yourself and the right people will come and stay...for good.

What about being successful in order to stand alone?
There's going to be plenty of times when people avoid you for the sake of whatever reason.

Might as well hone those skills, gather those resources and just be ready to "go it alone" when others feel you've become a thorn in their side.

Friends come and go, some will even go out of their way to avoid any memory of you.
Sad fact of life.

Well, that can motivate you as well as anything if the superficial trappings of success are the goal. You'll never be a happy person though.

Nothing wrong with that. Whatever motivates you to succeed. Like the saying goes..."Make your haters your motivators!"

Funny thing though, those people probably won't care if you are successful, unless they rejected you solely because you weren't successful, but whatever works for you.

Why give anybody that much control over you? Be successful for yourself. Those people who rejected you are but a blink of an eye in your life. Let it go, they're insignificant.
