Maybe he had to pee.
Maybe he had to poo.
Maybe he had gas and was trying to hold it in.
Maybe he had a wedgie and was trying to wiggle it loose.
Maybe he was trying to impress you.
Maybe he was nervous.
Maybe he had muscle cramps.
Maybe he was itching and trying to scratch it by moving.
Maybe he was trying to "adjust" things by moving.

Hard to say, really.

It was actually kind of funny. He isn't a model obviously. So his posing was awkward, to say the least. It wasn't one of those over-the-top dramatic fashion poses, as he tried to be subtle with it. But it looked obvious and deliberate enough to be seen as posing, at least from where I was. He even threw in a little bit of facial expression as well.

He was wearing blue jeans and a jacket with the collar folded up. Nothing wrong with the outfit BTW. But together with his posing, facial expression and everything, it did remind me of some old style biker or old Hollywood movie star in a funny way. I just had to look away embarrassingly. It was just a few quick poses, and it was all over within maybe five minutes or so. That's how long our conversation lasted.

I don't mean to make fun behind his back cause that'd be rude. I don't usually do that, especially not to that guy. Just that it was so unusual from a person during regular routine, I have to ask to see if someone else might have similar encounter and better understanding or interpretation of such strange behaviour. Mind you, there is still a chance that I've totally misjudged the whole thing.

Maybe someone put him up to it to win a bet as to how you would react. That's the first thing that I would think as his actions seemed to you so unatural to your normal relationship.
But then again, I work around a lot of immature peole.

It's hard to offer you any advice as you've been a bit enigmatic about the environment this is taking place in, and who this guy is to you. I'm also trying to understand how this would "turn ugly pretty quickly" if you simply asked the guy what he's doing. Seems like it would be a natural reaction. Your post is as strange as the behavior you're asking about.

Interesting, I'd never thought of it that way. If someone did put him up to do such silly thing just to get an reaction from me, then it'd be an extremely immature, even stupid, of him to comply. We're both grown men in a professional environment. Why do such childish thing to each other? Are we still in high school? Again, interesting assumption.

Sorry to keep you in suspense. I do want to protect the identity of the person involved. It is the right thing to do. I didn't mean to start a thread just to make fun of him, though he was acting very strange. I'm just trying to better understand his behaviour. That's why I put this in the psychology forum.

I can appreciate that, but in order to help you understand his behavior, we need to first understand your relationship, the circumstances, and the environment. At any rate, if this is in a workplace, I agree with Nick. Sounds like some of your co-workers yanking your chain.
