When I was a teen, I, too, wanted to be the 'young adult'.
Then came 25, which was hard for me, too {my first QUARTER CENTURY was gone}.
Then came 50,and I CELEBRATED!
Now, over 50, I amn happy with my age and here's why:
I am now:
~Old enough to know better,
~young enough to still enjoy it
~Old enough to S L O W down and not have anyone notice
~old enough to not care what people think anymore.
~old enough to get AARP discounts and get "senior' breaks on things
~old enough to have my elders allow me to call them by their given names instead or "mr." or "mrs."!
~old enough to be "taken seriously"
~old enough to pass on wisdom to younger folks
~old enough to have that wisdom taken seriously with a "really?" attached by the younger folks
~old enough to sit back and relax
~old enough to watch the younger ones make fools of themselves
~old enough to sit back and watch the world go by
~old enough to remember "how it was"
~old enough to watch as history repeats itself
~old enough to have "heirs"
~old enough to Retire
~finally ld enough for the "middle age crisis' and no one will notice or "blame" me
~Soon to have even more senoir services open to me
~old enough, but still younger than my spouse!

I was very happy with my age throughout most of my 30's. That was my best decade, and if I had to pick an age to remain at permanently I would pick 37. I looked my best, felt my best, and had blossoming confidence. It started going to Hell when I hit 39, and '40' was my big Pity Party.

I am early 20s. I am indifferent to my age really. Not happy about it, but not sad or angry about it either. lol

I think losing my sister young I am always pretty content about my age. Better then the alternative.

On the other hand, when I was a kid I couldn't wait to be 30

Ever since I was 12 I've been happy with my age
I made sure to enjoy every year instead of living my life wishing I was a different age.

I'm only discontent with my current age of 31 due to the fact that I feel that I've honestly not quite matured up to it.
Yeah, I may have held jobs for the past 10-11 years and got out on my own within the past four.
But I feel I've moved somewhat slowly and feel that I've gotten to this point in time 10 years too late.

This feeling of immaturity gets further pounded into my skull when I come across people currently in their late teens/early 20s who are currently on their own and have been since a little before, or immediately after high school ended.

I'm 61. I have a hard time remembering when I wasn't content with my age.

Age is LITERALLY just a number.

If you have problems with your age, you have a problem.

The rest of us celebrate it, in the form of BIRTHDAYS.
