Anyone on here afraid of thunder and lightning? I sure have been for many years. I have been endlessly trying to figure out what triggered it. I did not used to be afraid of them, up until I was about 9 years old, and since then, for the most part, they have been terrifying. I have tried many methods to no longer fear it, but so far, nothing has worked.

I too sort of like lightning storms as well. We used to have some real "doozies" out here on the wide open Texas South Plains but even our amazing tornadoes seem to have moved away.

However, I do not walk out into a lightning storm if I can help it. In recent years I've had lightning knock out a tv antenna, an outside security camera and I've seen large trees literally split.

Oh my! When I was around 5-6 years old I was terrified of thunderstorms, especially when lightning hit close by and sometimes I will flinch even now when a bad storm occurs, especially if I am driving.

I love thunderstorms too! I sleep like a baby during a good storm. Tinny you need to drive a rod through one foot into the ground.

Unless they're unusually severe and there are tornado warnings, I enjoy the sights and sounds of a good thunderstorm. If it's really windy, I worry about my trees falling on my house, as I have a couple of huge trees, either of which could take out half my house. However, generally, I love listening to thunder and watching lightning. In summertime, I often stand out on my porch (which has a roof over it) to watch thunderstorms.
