Since I traded in my microwave for a toaster oven, I have to plan ahead if I want hot fudge sauce on my ice cream (heat the jar in a pan of boiling water on the stove top).
I made chicken, roasted broccoli, carrots, and a turnip for dinner tonight. I thought I liked turnips, but maybe I don't. I undercooked my carrots, overcooked my broccoli and now I'm questioning everything I know.
I left my pomelo too long and by the time I cut it open it was completely dried out. So all I got from it was the gorgeous aroma of the peel. I paid $2.49 for the smell.

$2.50 for aromatherapy? I'd say that was a bargain.
This was the first winter that I can remember in which it wasn't necessary for Farmer Johnny from across the road to plow my driveway. I was delighted that there was no "shovelable" snow.
You see, sloppy Farmer Johnny with his humongous front-end loader digs up much of the sod along the sides of the driveway, and it's really labor-intensive hauling truckloads full of dirt from my "dirt garden" to repair his damage. Not to mention the dozen snow stakes that are designed to guide him but which he rips out of the ground every year. You might say that I should get someone else, but he's the only reliable person around and I'm too old and would need a larger vehicle to accommodate snow removal eqpt.
So after the euphoria I felt at the end of winter, we get a foot of snow on the 1st and 2nd days of spring, and here comes Farmer Johnny. After paying him the usurious fee he charges, I peer out the window and see some sod removed, but cannot assess the extent of damage until the snow finally melts. But then I see two huge chunks of asphalt. Omigawd, he done ripped up the driveway this time, along with the sod!
Well, I'm gonna enjoy this weekend and worry about and evaluate this letest predicament further during the upcoming week.
I found a live moth in my refrigerated container of arugula. I suspect he probably wasn't too thrilled about it either.
This morning I found a moth stuck in the moisture in the bathroom sink. The powder from its wings next to it like a weird sort of "snow angel." It just lay there, exhausted from the struggle of trying unsuccessfully to get up from a wet surface. I gently placed it on the back of the toilet tank to let it rest. When I went back later, more dust marks but it was gone. Probably gone to find our wool.
When making a return at Trader Joe's you wait on line at the service desk, which gives you a credit slip. Then another line at the cashier. I think they want you to get merchandise rather than money for the credit.
I'm working in Kuwait and live in a fancy apartment building with other expats and their families. My wife says the biggest complaints the expat wives have are getting their maids and servants to do exactly as they wish...how awful.
Can't get my Fitbit to synch up with my cellphone.
