I had a thought...

I know little of the process of Dementia or Alzheimer's but I have had amnesia.

With amnesia, I did not know I had amnesia. I didn't know I was suppose to know. Muscle memory was there; I could still tie my tie and play the piano but I couldn't remember who taught me. I still knew how to spell, but had no memory of winning spelling bees as a child.

My thought was on the wandering and getting lost part of Dementia. Is there a psychological technique that could be used to train the mind and give it the tools later to quickly reorient itself to it's current physical location?

Any ideas?

I think you need to go to this website for info on dementia and Alzheimer's:

I read about this guy who was afraid of being hit by lightning while mountain climbing. By progressively working at it with small voltage worked up to being able to grab hold of an AC 440 volt line and let go and not die.

I guess he's well prepared for a 440 volt lightning... Good luck to him.
