Sorry for the "downer subject", but I am curious (Watching a crime forensics TV show).
I am not looking for statistics on how many of these acts are performed...

I am curious to know if there are any statistics regarding how many people are readily capable of these acts?

You hear that many people "couldn't hurt a fly."
You also know of people who you would be foolish to turn your back on.
There are people who under extreme duress will defend themselves with lethal force.
There are people who will only kill to defend someone the love.

Are there any statistics that say how many of each type of person there is?

Unless someone has committed some kinds of crimes that could be tracked, then no.

However, your question reminded me of the concept of a Fermi estimate and this article I read once:

Statistically 90% of murders will be someone close to the victim, someone they knew; husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, ex relationships or marriages, friends, immediate family members.

Statistics from the FBI say they estimate at least 200 serial killers at large roaming the US looking for their next victim.

Rapists and pedophiles are altogether different, I've seen research statistics of those behind bars; percentages by age, race and other factors.

If I can find some of these statistical reports again I'll link them to the thread.

I think sociopaths are mostly labeled sociopaths because of their actions. We see people who repeatedly commit crimes or engage in behaviors that show an extreme lack of consideration for the feelings of others, and we label them sociopaths. Psychopaths would be the less-able-to-blend in version of sociopaths due to their more hazardous natures or worse impulse control.

I don't think we have a word for people who could commit horrible acts but don't. To be a sociopath, you basically have to have been an arse from an early age and continued to be an arse well into adulthood. (Note that I am not a psychologist, nor do I have any particular expertise in this area).
