What is with people that you can't win with no matter what?
For instance, I started by greeting coworkers with a nice pleasant "Good morning". My boss pulled me aside and said not to, so I stopped. Then about 6 months later, she brought me into a meeting and told me I needed to greet everyone that walked in the door.
Now I greet everyone, and all respond with a "good morning" back, except her. I get a dirty look, sometimes a mumble. I continue to greet because it is the polite thing to do, and her lack of greeting is a reflection of her, not me.
I try to please people, but those that are constantly changing their wishes and requirements exhaust me. Like they want one thing, you comply, but then they are not happy with that either. What makes people like this? Isn't life to short to be disgruntled over nonsense? I know for me, I rarely get mad, but when I do, it is for good reason.
Here is another example. I am asked to clean the kitchen, clear across the building, but then reprimanded that I am not at the front desk. I am swiftly moving so not wasting time at all. But how can I please the person by being in both places at once? I can't.
It just blows my mind that the requests are always ever changing, to the point of being impossible.

They've been trying to get rid of you for a long time now.
Why do you stay? I mean, it's your choice, you know. So why complain?

I don't want to get off topic, but I have answere previously. The topic in question, is really what causes someone to not be pleased ever and to constantly change their requests

I don't know what you've answered previously but if it's true that they are trying to get you to quit or build a case for firing you, that is also the answer to your current question. They are constantly changing expectations precisely so you cannot live up to them.
If you want to stay at this job, despite all the disadvantages you complain about, then it's just going to remain a part of your reality that they will continue to make your experience there as unpleasant as they can get away with.

Some people are never happy, and some managers like to cover up their disorganization by projecting it onto others. That said, what do you say to this person? If you're just complaining about it, rather than scheduling a meeting and calmly asking, "Sometimes when I'm asked to clean the kitchen I get criticized for not being at the front desk. How would you like me to prioritize these tasks?" Get things on the table, and in writing if you can.

Because your boss is doing everything they can to make you mad enough to quit.

It is only one person at my employment. She is not the one that writes my reviews, thankfully.

That makes sense in this particular case.
I can be extremely stubborn. Especially with being so close to home, the pay and PTO time all work in my favor.
