You see it all the time. When rock and roll became a thing in the 50s the older generations hated it and criticized it big time. When video games came around in the early days even before things were very realistic older people hated it/criticised it. In both cases politicians liked to get in give their 2c making legislation about things they don't have the first clue about and didn't even bother to even try to understand it. Of course it goes for a lot of other things as well but it's a continuous cycle that gets repeated over and over.

And while I realize it's not every older person, the fact is it is common for them to hate on anything new and different that younger people are into. I'm not saying they have to like it but as for example politicians which usually consist of much older people why even bother getting in on something they obviously dislike/hate for whatever reasons?

Apparently, a lot of people forget what it's like to be young, when they get older.

People don't like what they don't understand AND they tend to resist change.

Younger generations want to identify their 'group' by being different than the previous 'group'.

All people, old and young, think their way is THE way. Young people can be quite critical of the 'old ways' as well.

And this is how it goes ..... generation after generation.....

Because immature interests don't necessarily seem immature to you until you have matured.

I hate it when this generation criticized the next generation!! This happens with every generation.

I'm sick of hearing older people say young people are so spoiled. They had to cook their heat their leftovers over a stove, they had to find a payphone to call someone, they had black and white TV, they had no cable, listened to cassette tapes, never had the convenience of the internet to find info. They think young people are stupid, unintelligent, lazy, cannot speak or write.

It's not young people's fault that technology advances and everything is more convenient!!

The truth is that people (in any generation) are used to living life a certain way, so anything different (i.e., the way young people live) is weird and wrong.

My mom will be 83 on her birthday.

She finally brought herself a flip phone about 3 years ago. Yes. A flip phone.

I think a lot of it is...somehow, we go through our lives, living it more or less successfully, without whatever gizmos and gadgets are out there. And the OLDER you get, well...we just can't keep up. LOL

Look at how easy kids have it.

When I was young I had to walk barefoot 10 feet across a shag carpet to change the channel.

My gram is 85, and just left me a Facebook message! My parents, however, can't book travel online.
